Downtown Redevelopment Plan
In November 2001, the firm of Duany Plater-Zyberk and Company, joined by a good architect and planner, named Andreas Duany, conducted a plan in Fort Myers to re-develop the future vision of downtown Fort Myers. Many public meetings and forums were held, and discussed to refine the re-development plan that was adopted by the Fort Myers City Council on April 7, 2003.
The entire downtown area will get a face lift. This major move by a well know city designer/planner who also re-constructed West Palm beach will do the same magic here in Fort Myers. This redevelopment will rejuvenate the entire Downtown Fort Myers areas. Already, major builders have already undergone major Pre Construction along the river. Every Pre construction building received many end user wanting to buy a condo due to the affordable price, when comparing to it's neighborly city Naples.
